Twenty-five years ago, Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein found that there were great numbers of evangelical Christians who were firmly supportive of Israel and the Jewish people. These friends of Israel had a hunger to show their support for the Jewish State and the Jewish people in tangible ways, to pray for the peace of Jerusalem, and to learn more about Israel and the Jewish roots of Christianity.
Recognizing this hunger, and drawing on the shared biblical heritage of both faiths, in 1983 Rabbi Eckstein founded the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews to help build broad support for Israel and other issues of shared concern, and to help Christians and Jews reverse their 2,000-year history of discord and replace it with a relationship marked by dialogue, understanding, respect, and cooperation.
Since its founding, The Fellowship has given hundreds of millions of dollars to help Jews return to their biblical homeland and to fund humanitarian assistance for Jews in Israel and around the world. The Fellowship fulfills its mission through these key programs:
On Wings of Eagles assists Jews in making aliyah (emigrating to Israel) and becoming full, productive members of Israeli society.
Guardians of Israel turns despair into hope for suffering Israelis by providing them with food, housing, childcare, and language and job training, comforts and supports victims of terrorist attacks, and assists in war recovery and rebuilding efforts in parts of Israel devastated by war.
Isaiah 58 provides food, clothing, medical assistance, and other lifesaving aid to elderly Jews and orphans in the former Soviet Union.
Stand for Israel encourages Christians to “pray for the peace of Jerusalem,” keeps them up to date on events in the Middle East, and helps them become better informed, more effective advocates for Israel.
La Fraternidad Internacional de Cristianos y Judios brings The Fellowship’s bridge-building message to Spanish speaking community throughout the U.S. and Latin America.
